鲍曙明,合肥工业大学计算机学士 (1982),上海财经大学应用统计硕士(1987),美国clemson university应用经济学博士(1996)。自1982-85年间任机电部上海发电设备成套设备研究所助理工程师,1996-97间任上海财经大学数量经济研究所讲师,1996-97间任美国数软公司研究研究员。1997年起受聘于密西根大学,现任中国信息研究中心主任. 2001-2003年间,参与了哈佛大学国际研究所所长杰夫。萨克斯教授主持的中国西部发展项目,考察了中国西部数十个省与自治区,于2003年与有关海内外专家,共同推动成立了由四川大学、西南财大、兰州大学、西北大学、宁夏民族学院、四川社科院、宁夏社科院、贵州财经学院等西部高校和研究机构为核心组成的中国西部研究联合体,并受聘为联合体海外秘书处副秘书长,负责海外协调和年会组织工作。2004-2009年间受聘为江西师范大学特聘教授和鄱阳湖生态与环境研究教育部重点实验室主任。2009年起受聘为华东理工大学商学院讲座教授和华东理工大学商学院城市与区域分析实验室主任。主要研究兴趣包括地理信息系统,区域经济学,空间统计学和空间计量经济模型。。历任国际华人地理信息科学协会副会长(1998-1999),会长(1999-2000), 及中国留美经济学会副会长(2002-2003) ,以及中国留美经济学会常务执行主任(2005-)等职。主要研究兴趣包括地理信息系统,区域经济学,空间统计学和空间计量经济模型。主要学术贡献包括(1)经济地理和区域发展中的空间理论和模型;(2)以局部分析为主的空间统计分析方法;(3)空间统计分析软件研究开发。
